LBRDI Chapter 68

Part-Time Job

Bonus ko-fi chapter

Shen Mian held the little dragon cub and after he checked, he determined that they weren’t injured. The little dragon cub’s mood seemed to be stable and they didn’t panic. Judging from the dragon’s habit of raising their cubs, this shouldn’t be their first time being thrown out.

The suspension car was in a tragic state. The smashed roof had been dented and had lost chunks of paint, revealing the grey metal underneath.

He Xing’s suspension car was only equipped with an emergency defence system and wasn’t bullet-proof. It was a civilian suspension car with better performance so, of course, it couldn’t withstand the impact of a gem dragon cub falling from the sky.

This small red gem dragon cub didn’t look old enough to be attending childcare centres. The small one in Shen Mian’s arms was about half the weight of Gian.

The little dragon cub lifted its big tail and placed it on Shen Mian’s wrist. Its big innocent eyes blinked and it made a small sound at Shen Mian. Little dragon cubs at this age, as long as they have a happy and healthy family, are all good at acting coquettish.

He Xing paid attention to the situation outside the car and found that the object that hit the roof was a small dragon cub, so he didn’t rush to come out.

Shen Mian was asking where the little dragon cub’s home was, but the little dragon cub was thrown over the suspension car. He turned around, held his paws and looked at Shen Mian in confusion. “I-I don’t remember.”

Shen Mian, “…”

He Xing, who had just gotten out of the car, almost laughed- his dean and the little dragon cub were looking at each other, one with an innocent face and the other who seemed to have stopped thinking.
His dean was the one that stopped thinking.

Fortunately, the little dragon cub’s parents finally realised that they should look for the little dragon cub first. Shen Mian and He Xing finally saw the father of the little dragon cub- about five or six meters away from the suspension car, a villa’s courtyard door opened and an adult red gem dragon in its dragon form came out, looking left and right.

He Xing and Shen Mian watched the red gem dragon rake through the bushes in the flower garden, all the way up to a place near the suspension car. He still didn’t see his little dragon cub, so he scratched his chin in confusion. “Where’s my son?”

He Xing, “…”

Shen Mian, “…”

He Xing had to cough. “Baron Houston.”
There weren’t many nobles in the empire, but He Xing still barely remembered which family was what dragon and which title they held.

Only then did the adult gem dragon discover He Xing and Shen Mian and was shocked. “Your Highness, what are you doing here?”

He Xing stepped aside and Baron Houston, who had just spotted his little dragon cub and came over to pick up his young son, saw the dented roof of the suspension car.

Baron Houston looked down to lock eyes with his young son and the little dragon cub scratched his face, confirming Baron Houston’s suspicion. “I smashed it.”

Baron Houston pressed his son into his arms. “I’m sorry Your Highness. I was playing at home with my cub and accidentally threw him out and smashed your suspension car, we will definitely compensate you.”

He Xing helplessly said, “Don’t play such dangerous games with your dragon cub at home. It’s not that big of a deal you smashed my car today, but what if one day you smash another dragon?”
Although this place was a residential area for nobles, not every large dragon was as resistant to being smashed as a suspension car.

Baron Houston apologized with a series of bows. “We will definitely learn our lesson.”

In the end, he compensated for the damage done to the suspension car. Baron Houston also said he would never play such a dangerous game in a residential area again and returned to the villa with the dragon cub.

The mother of the dragon cub, who was preparing a big meal in the kitchen, poked her head out. “How did you find him just now?”

Baron Houston took his son in tow, one big and one small dragon were listless. “Smashed the Crown Prince’s car.”

The dragon cub’s mother, “The last time you smashed the roof of our house, this time you smashed the Crown Prince’s car, are you going to take your son to perform a cannonball launch in front of His Majesty next time?”

Houston, “Ying-”

The dragon cub’s mother sneered.

……

Only the suspension car’s roof was broken, so it was a good thing it didn’t interfere with normal driving. By the time they reached their destination, Livia had just come out with his backpack.

As soon as the car door came to a stop, Yan Tan couldn’t wait to rush out.

Livia was a head taller than Yan Tan, with snow-white skin and was expressionless, but the eyes that fell on Yan Tan were soft.

Yan Tan took Livia to the suspension car. “Uncle He, Dean, this is Livia.”

Livia slightly bowed. “Your Highness, Dean Shen.”

Shen Mian nodded at Livia. “Good afternoon. We came with Gian and the others to pick you up. Come into the car first, okay?”
The little dragon cubs’ itinerary was very simple- go eat after picking up Livia, then go to the amusement park in the Golden Capital for a spin after eating. But now they have an extra car repair on their schedule and while the roof wouldn’t affect the ability to drive safe, the dent and peeling paint were just too ugly.

Livia nodded. Yan Tan had already discussed with him about going out together when he came back, it’s just that he didn’t expect the Crown Prince would personally come to pick him up.

Livia got into the backseat after Yan Tan and found two bright-eyed dragon cubs. He looked back and Yan Tan was pulling on his shoulders, his eyes also bright.

There were inexplicably excited little dragon cubs in front and behind and the one behind tried to push him over.

Livia sighed helplessly, took the small candies he had prepared from his bag, distributed them one by one to the three dragon cubs and asked, “Are the seatbelts all fastened?”

Gian held one milk candy and felt that he had discovered another trick for coaxing dragon cubs.

Shen Ming took a look in the rearview mirror and withdrew his gaze when he found that the little dragon cubs were getting along well.

He Xing asked, “Will you be able to make up for the airtime this month?
Because there was a lot going on in the past two days, Shen Mian did not broadcast yesterday or today.

Shen Mian turned on his quantum computer and looked at the amount of airtime he still owed in the background. “I can make up for it.”

He Xing stopped at the fork in the road with the indicator light and leaned into Shen Mian’s ear and whispered, “No, Dean, just now you should’ve said you couldn’t make up for it.”

Shen Mian, “?”

He Xing laughed in a low voice. “Then I’ll turn into a little dragon cub for you so you can carry me while walking.”

Shen Mian, “…”
Here we go again. It’s hard not to lose your integrity a few times a day, isn’t it?

……

The Golden Capital had a famous amusement park that every dragon cub yearned to go to. Shen Mian simply started a live broadcast there, which was a way to show the audience a glimpse of the amusement park.

[Brilliant Colours: Ahhhhhh it’s the Dean! I saw the Dean’s leave of absence note and thought I wouldn’t be able to see him in the next week.]

[Strawberry flavoured nutrient solution: !! Dean, look at me!]

[Death Rays: This isn’t the centre? Has the dean already arrived at the dragon’s Imperial Star? Where is this place?]

[Crown Prince’s Dean: Should be an amusement park… is it the Golden Capital’s Fei Yue Amusement Park? I’m very close to the Dean!]

[Seventh Legion Super God: Is the person in front Medal? What happened to your name?]

[Crown Prince’s Dean: Huh? I just added the Dean into my name.]

Shen Mian held the quantum computer and let it slowly circle around to capture the surroundings. “Golden Capital’s Fei Yue Amusement Park, we brought the dragon cubs over to play for the whole day.”

As he spoke, He Xing had walked over.

He Xing had just contacted the suspension car repair shop, who towed the suspension car with a trailer and would deliver it to the park around 4 pm.

The little dragon cubs rushed to Shen Mian and he ruffled their hair one by one.

“What do you want to play first?”
There were many famous attractions at Fei Yue Amusement Park and Shen Mian stood in front of a giant guide sign with the little dragon cubs, letting them choose for themselves.

The dragon cubs had never been to Fei Yue Amusement Park before and looked at each other for a moment, not really knowing what to choose.

Yan Tan looked at the omnipotent Livia. “Livia…”

Livia helplessly thought about it. “There’s an attraction that’s pretty close that has a deep mountain tunnel. It’s very beautiful on the inside. We can try that.”

Yan Tan very loudly said, “Livia is super awesome!”

Livia paused and replied, “I’ve only worked here part-time before.”

Xing Fei tilted her head. “Were you acting as those fluffy little cuties wearing jackets?”

Gian was curious. “Can we also work part-time here? If I work here part-time for a day, is lunch included? Will they give two nutrient solutions? Are there any side dishes?”

Yan Tan was a little dragon cub that could be brainwashed very easily. “Then can I come here and set up a stall to paint their portraits? That way I can earn star coins too.”

Livia, “…”
He turned around and looked at Shen Mian- Dean Shen’s dragon cubs were raised very well, so how come he would ask if food is included, and also why would he lead Yan Tan astray?

Shen Mian was particularly indifferent. “Does it include two side dishes and one soup?”

Livia, “…”
This dean really has a distinctive personality.

Shen Mian ruffled little Xing Fei’s hair. “Let’s go.”

The Deep Mountain Tunnel was one of the most famous attractions at Fei Yue Amusement Park. When the dragons were constructing the fake mountain, they arranged the caves to wind in the same way and if visitors could come out within twenty-five minutes, they would receive a free gift pack from the deep mountain tunnel.

The Deep Mountain Tunnel sounded like an expedition attraction, but not only was it not, it was a very romantic and beautiful attraction. The inside was laid out like a hollow starry sky and was so beautiful that it could be compared to nature’s majestic beauty.

The attraction had a long waiting time and it took a while for the line to get up to Shen Mian and the others.

After he inquired the dragon worker, Shen Mian learned that he could live broadcast inside, but the video must include the words [Fei Yue Amusement Park] in the title.

Shen Mian changed the title, took the ticket and entered the deep mountain tunnel with He Xing and the cubs.

Dark.
Entering the tunnel from the bright outside, the first feeling was that it was dark and it took a few steps before being able to adapt to it.

The dragon cubs had good eyesight at night but the oppressive feeling from this darkness made them a bit uncomfortable.

Livia patted Yan Tan. “Let’s move forward.”

After going forward a few metres, there was a fork in the path. Xing Fei chose the tunnel with a bright light and after stepping into it, she was immediately conquered by the tunnel-

From overhead, to the right and left, the walls were saturated with shimmering light sources. The wonderful glowing lights were saturated and luminous, the self-forming halos overlapping each other. The jagged, strange rocks also seemed to glow.

It was like a fairy tale cave full of treasures.

There were almost no barrages in Shen Mian’s live room, all the dragons and humans were quietly enjoying this splendour.

He Xing had never been to an amusement park in his entire life and he never knew that little dragon cubs could have such fun rides. He had never seen any man-made cave like this and he couldn’t help but walk to the wall and reach out to touch it.

A rude male voice suddenly sounded throughout the quiet tunnel. “Which one of you touched Lao Tzu! I will bite your hand if you touch again! I’ll sue you for harassment! Lao Tzu came here to work, not sell himself!”

He Xing abruptly withdrew his hand and tightly held onto Shen Mian. “What is this?!”

Shen Mian was also stunned and squinted before he could see what those halos’ light sources were- they were actually glowing fluorescent dragons!

Xing Fei, Gian and Yan Tan originally thought they were small wall lamps on the walls, but they didn’t expect these “wall lamps” to speak and they were a little frightened. “Dean?”

Livia hurriedly spoke up, “They’re only working dragons. They have to hang out here all day, it’s very tiring, it’s best to not touch them.”

He Xing, “…”
Alright.
