LBRDI Chapter 53

Thank you for the kind words about my situation! Yall are keeping me going ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶.

Although the ones taking the chapters are probably bots, I won’t be using password protection or images because they’re just inconvenient for everyone. I do know that people do translate the site into their own language so I won’t be using images and images will be annoying for mobile readers and I don’t want to ruin the readers experience.

Which is why i’m just going to forget about the people stealing. I have also considered turning this into a pdf form or epub for the people who would like to read it offline. If the pdf does end up happening, please do not repost onto other sites or anywhere else, the pdf/epub formats are for personal use only. Royal Banquet Live Broadcast

Bonus ko-fi chapter

Rhein grew up with Vitus’s criticism and sarcasm, and whenever Vitus’ gaze fell on him, it was inevitably accompanied by a verbal attack. He grew more and more afraid of the gazes of the other dragons as he matured. He always felt that under such gaze, they would spit out malicious words in the next second.

At first, it was a matter of finding a place to stay where there were no other dragons, but as time went on, Rhein realised how enjoyable it was to cut down on interactions with other dragons.

Rhein sat on Lansin’s lap and gently shifted his calves.

“I can lie down if I want, sit down if I want and my brain doesn’t need to think, I can lie down all day! But while I think it’s nice to just be on my own every day, I still don’t want to see Dad Vitus, he always makes Dad sad.”

It wasn’t until he came here that he suddenly realised that a true friend wouldn’t force him to play with them under the pretext of “I thought we were good friends”. A true friend accepts being different from himself.

Shen Mian was speechless for a long time- Rhein was the interstellar version of standing up at the place where you fell down.

Rhein sneaked a glance at Shen Mian and smiled a bit embarrassedly, “The teachers all said that I don’t try hard at all. But I later found out that even if I try, everyone was still just ordinary dragon cubs. Many, many dragons are just ordinary dragon cubs. No matter how beautifully and grandly they write their dreams, it’s dragon cubs like me who are the majority.”

Shen Mian: …This is not a simple little salted fish, but a thoughtful salted fish, with a firm position and reason to be salty, no wonder he won’t turn over even when he touches the pot.

Shen Mian faced the affirmative look in the little dragon cub’s eyes, “Very… philosophical.”

Lansin, the silly dad, hugged his son for a moment, “Look, your dean praised you.”

Shen Mian silently turned his head.

Lansin took a leave of absence after receiving the news from Shen Mian and after talking with Rhein, he said goodbye to Shen Mian and returned to work.

The dark blue suspension car was still parked in front of the door as Shen Mian sent Lansin out of the centre. As soon as they stepped out, the car door opened and out stepped an adult dragon. He was very tall, about the same as Shen Mian.
He didn’t come over and looked Shen Mian up and down, quickly moving his gaze to Lansin.

Shen Mian: “It seems that I won’t need to send you.”

Lansin smiled, a little embarrassed, “Although the manor is close to the cenrte, I’m so small that it would take me a really long time to walk there, so I had to ask someone else to give me a lift.”
He worked on an estate not too far from the centre, the sovereignty of the manor was vested in an adult boiling dragon.

Shen Mian nodded.

Lansin stroked Rhein’s hair, “Then Dad will go home first.”

Rhein nodded, indicating that he would be good.

When the suspension car turned around and left, Rhein said, “Dean, that uncle just now is my dad’s boss. He doesn’t look like he’d eat a dragon in his human form.”

Shen Mian corrected him, “They don’t eat dragons in dragon form either.”

……

The Royal Banquet began promptly at 1 pm on October 23rd and will be held late into the night.

The invited media crowded outside the Imperial City before eleven o’clock, and they were still taking pictures of the city, which was built with a special charm, even though they were still outside the Imperial City.

The imperial city was called Fei Yun City and was located in the centre of the Golden Capital. The Golden Capital, however, was primarily a residential area for the nobles and does not prohibit other dragons from entering, but prohibits intruding of residential areas.
In fact, trespassing is prohibited in any residential area.

But this was Fei YunCity. It was difficult to even get close and there were never any official photos. There were all sorts of pictures circulating around that they didn’t know if they were real or not and now they actually had a chance to enter.

The royal family automatically abolished the collar system when they left politics, but kept Fei Yun City and banned other dragons from entering without being summon- except for the cubs and childcare teachers who attended classes at the centre.

The media was agitated by the sound of machinery turning the heavy doors in front of them: Had the royals, unable to bear the thought of them shivering in the cold, opened the doors early to invite them in?

Fei Yun City’s main gate was majestic and grand, enough for four or five large-sized adult dragons to pass side by side and the exterior had a silver-grey plating. he main gate opened up a gap, the shoulder to shoulder resisting cameramen couldn’t help but stretch their necks, trying to see the inside of Fei Yun City in advance through the gap.

After the door opened wide enough, a small dragon cub squeezed most of its body out of it.

Because there was a party, the dragon cubs, who were to go home early to dress up, were out of school.

This small dragon cub was wingless and hornless and carried a large tail on its back as long as its body. It was covered in lustrous warm white scales, but with reddish soft fur where its limbs and body connected.

The little dragon cub, who had just exposed half of their body, froze from the media outside the door.

The little dragon cub looked confused.

And the media: Oh Lord, a legendary genus dragon cubs! Quickly take a photo! Miss it once, regret it for life!

The little dragon cub of the mythical genus Panlong species faced the camera lenses, blinked, backed up on all fours back inside the gate and whispered, “We’re at the wrong gate!”

A confused child’s voice from inside the door:
“This is the place.”

“Meng Meng, you didn’t go to the wrong place.”

After the childish voices discussed inside, a round-headed dragon cub probed out and then retracted, “There are lots of dragons, let’s wait for the teacher.”

The media looked on from the outside and a few moments later, the door opened completely and a couple of middle-aged childcare teachers led them out, the cubs following in a line, only thirty-seven cubs in total.

That’s all the cubs in all six grades in the childcare centre for legendary genus dragon cubs.

The media cameras followed the cubs as they moved until the cubs lined up to walk up to the minivan, only to reluctantly turn the cameras away.

Compared to the dragon cubs, the walls, which were still fresh, were dull and tasteless.

At exactly twelve noon, the front door opened again and the chief executive in charge of reception smiled and invited the media to enter.

Fei Yun City was called a “City” and its area was so huge that even a large-sized flying dragon would have to fly for hours without stopping to get from one side to the other. The media boarded a suspension car for transportation and drove for about ten minutes before reaching the main hall.

The main hall, where the guests were invited, was located in the front part of Fei Yun City and was originally used for political discussions. It was cleaned every day and for this banquet, every part of the palace had been re-decorated. The palace that stood in the flow of time for thousands of years maintained even the traces of war with untouchable majesty.

The media were only on the red carpet and looked up. The majestic palace blocked the view of all who peeked backwards, hovering before the dragons like a giant dragon. The palace rested on polished and smooth jewelled mirrors, gazing downward like golden dragon eyes.

The media gradually calmed down and entered the hall one by one following the arrangement of the manager.

Behind the hall, He Xing, in the marshal’s uniform, ignored the dragons waiting in the room and sent a message with his quantum computer. The deputy supervisor, who kept watching the time next to him, turned a few times in a hurry and couldn’t help but tap the Crown Prince’s entourage, “Vick, can you tell His Highness to get ready? The party starts in half an hour.”

Vick remained motionless, “His Highness has a sense of time.”

Deputy Supervisor: “…”
He didn’t have much contact with the Crown Prince, who had the military achievement of great merit, and was afraid of the young marshal at heart.

He Xing leaned on the couch, the corner of his lips slightly curled and sent a message to his family’s dean: Will you watch the live broadcast later?

Shen Mian: Mn.

He Xing’s inner probing dragon claw was restless and wanted to come out: Then remember to bring the centre’s cubs to watch it with together.

The other side didn’t return the message until the holographic screen went out.
He Xing was a little disappointed, was about to fix his clothes and stood up when the quantum computer suddenly buzzed and vibrated. He Xing threw away his hat and leaned over to pick up the quantum computer.

Shen Mian: Already watching the unofficial media broadcast.

Qiming Childcare Centre on Water Star.

The little dragon cubs were already wearing the special holographic glasses that Shen Mian had prepared ahead of time and attached to the desktop quantum computer. Gian, who was watching a live broadcast for the first time, excitedly waggled the tip of his tail.

Shen Mian waited for a moment to see He Xing and stroked his fingers a few times on the screen of his quantum computer before putting it away.

He Xing contentedly shut down his quantum computer handed it to Vick and whispered, “Remember to take some pictures for me. Pick a better angle and get a clearer, more handsome shot.”

Vick took it respectfully, “Okay, no problem. As long as you ask for a pouch in the style of Gian for me.”

He Xing thought about it for a few seconds and felt it was a good deal, “Deal.”
It’s just a pouch, at most he could just say a few words to the dean and he will definitely be able to get it.

He straightened his military uniform, put on his military cap, with the royal symbol embedded in it, gave a final straightening to his clothes and cap in the mirror and left the lounge to march towards the main hall.

At 12:30 pm, the Royal Family’s official account opened the live broadcast. The viewing numbers collapsed instantly in the other media live rooms, flooding the official live room. The late-arriving audience faced the indefinite queue number and returned with a sigh to other media live rooms.

In the official live room, the barrage densely covered the screen continuously for ten minutes. All the objects in the live room were brought in and discussed once before the barrage slowly decreased to the point where they could be seen. The gifts in the lower-left corner still kept on brushing, the previous one has not been brushed yet it had already been replaced by a later one.

[Golden Mint Roast: Ahhhhh, I’m going crazy I can’t believe I’m actually in here! I can’t believe I got in! When will the Crown Prince show up? When?!]

[Seventh Legion Super God: The first part is the awarding of medals, which His Highness, as Marshal, will be awarding to the other dragons!]

[Snacks for sale in the front row: Your highness ahhhh you’re a strong man and I like you too! Confession to the Empire’s sword!]

[I am the Marshal’s Ribbon: For His Highness! His Majesty is so good looking, I’m sure he’ll be just as good!]

[Crown Prince’s Medal: Confession to Marshal He! Confession to His Highness! I love you just the way you are ahhh, you’re the hero who saved my planet ahhh.]

One o’clock sharp.
The low, pure music slowly echoed through the main hall, the elegant emphasis of the orchestra seemed to resonate in the chests of the listeners and the royals, who arrived at last, slowly took their seats.

Because the camera was pulled up high, the viewers couldn’t see the faces at the overhead angle and had to rely on the seating order and the rank of the military uniform to tell which one was the crown prince.

The monarch representing the military power took to the stage to make a speech and the camera finally switched to the camera facing the podium. After a short speech, the first part of the ceremony-the conferring of honours-began.

The conferring of honours was done by the monarch and the crown prince together, and in the inexplicable silence of the audience, a young man in uniform stood up on the stage and walked up the red-carpeted stairs.

No matter how much viewers manipulated the angle of the live room, they could only see his side profile. His features seemed a little unclear under the black brim, but his eyes were bright against the projected light.

The contours were deep and affectionate, and the gaze seemed to have a bit of a smile in it.

The audience was solemn until the young heir to the empire stepped onto the stage, his heavy gown undercutting the Marshal’s sharpness. He yawned slightly, extraordinarily polite, “I hereby thank you all for coming from the bottom of my heart.”

After being stunned for a few seconds, warm applause swept through the main hall.

Some of the barrages stood out among the ahhh’s in the live broadcast:

[Crown Prince’s Medal: ?]

[Seventh Legion Super God: ??]

[Does your throat hurt today: ???]

  2. I’d think pdf would make it easier to steal and more work for you so I’d vote no for that. Maybe do one of those options where you cant highlight or copy words on the website (some translators do that) …Thank you for the chapter :))) Cant wait for the audience to react heehhe

  3. if you do go through with an offline ver, i’d prefer epub as you can make it have a dark background in your reader app lol. QWFOD has a pdf ver but the white bg >_<…

idk how people do the no copy/paste scrambler thing but i think it messes up translator apps? i know some translators make NU link to a fake ch and link to the real ch in the mess of text to try and fool bots.

thx for the ch! will rhein get a new dad 👀. hehe i wanna see cubs reactions.
