LBRDI Chapter 54

Ya boi didn’t want to leave you on a cliffhanger so here you go.

Lucky for you, I don’t like to cut chapters into parts.

Coquettish Beast

Bonus ko-fi chapter

The normal barrage in the live room:

[Military Uniform: I’m going crazy, I’m dead, His Highness is so handsome! This isn’t what I expected. Let’s just say His Highness and His Majesty look more alike.]

[Your nickname has been taken: An inexplicably good alpha…it’s the majesticness of large-sized dragons that look good wu wu wu. I’m okay now, cured of my large-sized dragon phobia. I feel so safe looking at him.]

[Account Cancellation: It’s the alpha that’s the love of my life! Ahhhh I really want to join the army, I wish I could see His Highness commanding it with my own eyes.

[It’s freezing cold: I feel so horny seeing him in that tight military uniform.]

t/n: I’m so sorry I couldn’t find any other word that would fit (/ε\*)

[Collectable Cards: It’s cold, I feel like I need a boyfriend again. Seeing His Highness makes me interested in alphas.]

The strange barrage:

[Lao Tzu is the cutest in the interstellar: Lao Tzu is confused to the point of borrowing a question from “Young Dragon’s 100 000 Reasons Why”. Who this? Who this? Who is this?]

[Maths, Physics and Chem: This dragon…I’m dizzy too (dumbfounded expression), am I blind or am I going crazy?]

[Crown Prince’s Medal: I need to calm down…]

The people who sent out question marks were mostly viewers who had watched Shen Mian’s live broadcasts and naturally had seen the existentially strong He Xing. Because they were too shocked, they couldn’t send out full barrages in time and could only send multiple question marks.

After the densely covered “Ahhhh” passed, these barrages that didn’t fit in with the marvels and compliments were pretty eye-catching. The symbols sometimes didn’t accurately express their emotions and some viewers in the live room felt offended when confronted with a question mark barrage.

[Bottle of milk: What’s the thought behind those question marks and calming down? Are you not satisfied with His Highness’s appearance? Are you all interstellar beauties?]

[Candy Crush: Can’t some dragons show a little more respect? This is the Empire’s god of war, appearance is just an additional thing and not important.]

[Fake Sugar Real Knife: Stop arguing (angry expression), it’s an Imperial Merit award ceremony, can everyone calm down!]

[Seventh Legion Super God: That’s not it…we’re too shocked… we’ve seen this dragon before! He’s a big cutie that can ying ying ying.]

[Elf with a tail: ??? Big cutie? You look at this alpha overflowing with energy and say cute again. I can just picture him striding across the ship in his military uniform, his eyes shining and sharp, and you think he’s cute?]

[Crown Prince’s Medal: I’m about to crack, I’ve never felt my face hurt so much. Curious dragons can search for a Cat Eye anchor called Shen Mian and watch his videos. There are surprises (startling), seriously.]

This time it was the other unsuspecting dragons’ turn to ask questions. The live broadcast was not over, so they minimised the live broadcast’s window, went to the Cat Eye’s searching interface and typed in the two words, ‘Shen Mian’.

Cat Eye quickly ranked the search results by relevance, with an anchor at the top of the list.

Some viewers: I get it! It must be that this anchor looks a lot like the crown prince, so the fans are here to dabble in the limelight. As soon as Lao Tzu figures out what’s going on, I’m going to go back to the fans!

They entered the anchor’s homepage and saw a row of screen recordings at the bottom.
Viewers casually clicked on one, muted it and then turned to the comments section. They scrolled through the screen a little to see that the new comments published today actually squeezed out the original hot comments.

Seventh Legion Super God:
Guide to screen recording 1689733, watch the first segment, jump to the twenty-five-minute mark and start watching, be sure to watch the entire segment. You will come back here and crack with me.

It was posted three minutes ago and in just a few minutes, it had already received tens of thousands of likes and thousands of comments, all of which were thanking for the guidance.

The audience coming from the Palace’s live broadcast clicked on the blue video number, which was a screen recording of a live broadcast. Viewers dragged the bar and stopped at twenty-five minutes, just two or three minutes before the end of the video.

Unlike the anchor that the viewers had imagined was dabbling in the limelight, the first thing they saw when they came in was the handsome anchor. When their eyes were still reluctant to leave the anchor, they heard the anchor speak, seemingly disliking the barrages that were on the live broadcast at the time. The new audience was not sure what happened, but they figured it out with the recreation of the scene by a group of barrage actors.

New audience: Interesting, not what we thought it would be. But that’s no reason for you guys to go to the Palace’s live room to brush randomly, is it? What does it have to do with our Empire’s sword?

At the twenty-fifth minute and forty-seventh second of the screen recording, a very familiar-looking adult dragon gradually appeared on the screen as the anchor spoke.

It wasn’t very clear, but it was familiar, the kind of familiarity that seemed like they’d only seen them a few minutes ago.
The new viewers took a cautious glance at the live broadcast in the small window at the bottom and saw that the outline was almost identical.

New audience: Got a bad feeling and began shivering for no apparent reason.

The anchor in the video asked, “Do you know how they handle all fierce beasts that can ying ying ying?”

The appearance data of the adult dragon had been captured in the live room and clearly appeared on the screen.

New audience: ?????

Their hands were faster than their brains and typed out a row of question marks first.

The adult dragon cocked his head towards the anchor.

“Hm?”

Anchor, “Can you ying ying ying?”

The adult dragon didn’t hesitate.

“Ying ying ying.”

New audience: !!!
Their trembling fingers pulled back the progress bar, lingering several times for a few brief seconds. What was in front of them felt like a dream, but it was still the same thing after watching it several times.

They used their finger to click into the comment section and the top few hot comments with the highest number of likes were all sent dozens of seconds ago:

Crown Prince’s Medal: I’m shocked, cracking. (A flaming dragon slowly cracking)
Like thousands of floors of tall buildings built underneath, it was the same sentence when they clicked in, but the cracked dragons were different and each time they scrolled there was exactly one reply. The effort of clicking in and then exiting the floor doubled the replies.

Does your throat hurt today?: After I was severely wounded and was discharged from the army because of the after-effects, I had thought that the marshal of the 7th Legion was a hunk just like myself. I thought that with you, us hunks could compete with those bright young boys. Why did you suddenly crash the arrangement?

Comment underneath:
Sparks in all directions: A passing by hunk left a kudos.

He Xing’s weird hunk image was thanks to various unscrupulous media. Although He Xing never showed his face in public, there were always some daring media who risked death and wrote articles to win the attention of dragons with one or two photos of uncertain origin and non-existent accuracy, the most famous one of which was a picture of his back, which was of a muscular and strong, tall figure that had a strong presence, in front of the grand gate of Fei Yun City.

Just because the background of the photo was Fei Yun City, it was the most credible photo before the live broadcast.

Yet the crown prince actually ying ying yinged in another dragon’s live broadcast.

New audience: We’re shocked, cracking, do you understand?

Other viewers, who arrived from the Royal’s official live room and haven’t had a chance to watch the video: Huh?

……

And in the childcare centre on Water Star.

The dragon cubs crowded into a pile around Shen Mian, watching the live broadcast of the royal honouring ceremony together with rapt attention.

Yan Tan was in a lacklustre mood. He just missed his grandfather and uncle, and…well, with all the stuff Dad had sent, he just thought about him.
He had spent four years in the centre in Fei Yun City and has walked on every piece of unclaimed land in the city- the dragon cubs have always been particularly favoured, even in the Emperor’s palace. They could “sneak” in and eat desserts that the Emperor had “forgotten” on the table, so he wasn’t curious about Fei Yun City.

Xing Fei had never seen such a magnificent palace before and couldn’t take her eyes off the screen even for a moment.
If only she could get to the roof of such a tall palace, the wind would be even stronger.

Rhein collapsed dizzily next to Xing Fie.

“I’m so dizzy.”

Gian nodded vigorously.

“It’s so big, the house must be very expensive!”

After He Xing appeared, all of the dragon cubs were silent except for Lu Yuan.

Lu Yuan didn’t react at first because there was a clear difference between the uniformed He Xing and the Uncle He who usually got along with them- he didn’t have a lazy posture and because the military cap pressed between his eyebrows and the deep outline, his gaze was extraordinarily significant. His eyes were smeared with a little smile, but were not too gentle or affectionate.

It wasn’t the first time Shen Mian had seen him in this uniform, but it was different from the time he wore it in the centre.

The part he left behind at the centre was the most tender part of him.

Lu Yuan said with candy in his mouth, “The Crown Prince and Uncle He look very similar, looking closer, they pretty much look exactly…”

Lu Yuan suddenly froze.
The little black and white fatty slapped Gian hard.

“Quickly! Gian! Physically speaking, what is the likelihood of two dragons to have identical human forms?”

Gian was in shock, became an emotionless endorsement machine, and repeated mechanically, “(The Essential Learning of Human Forms) says that human forms are influenced by dragon forms and that the human forms of different dragon genera vary greatly. Dragons of the same race will also show clearer differences because of the shape of their dragon form.”

Gian was dumbfounded and subconsciously looked at Shen Mian.

“Dean?”

Shen Mian lowered his gaze and stroked Gian.

“It’s your Uncle He.”

So Dean Shen got the real-life “shocked to the core” emoticon pack from baby Gian and baby Lu Yuan.

Before Xing Fei could be shocked, Yan Tan crawled up with a grunt and shook his younger sister’s hand.

“Xing Fei, look, that’s my uncle! He’s been to this centre before! Next time, tell him to send you a big bag of books!”

Xing Fei didn’t have time to be shocked before she was overwhelmed by the joy of having new books, happily accepting the psychedelic setting of Uncle He being the crown prince.

Lu Yuan and Gian, who hadn’t noticed Yan Tan talking, had once again missed a big announcement.

Gian finally snapped out of his shock.

So Uncle He is the Crown Prince, will he…never come back?”

Shen Mian’s fingertips poked the tip of Gian’s tail.

“Uncle He will always be your Uncle He, of course he will come back.”

Only baby Rhein, who didn’t know the situation, was confused and carefully asked, “Who is this Uncle He you’re talking about?”

Xing Fei, “Uncle He is the young uncle standing on the stage in the live room… He reads us stories at night and will ying ying ying for the dean during the day. You’ll see when he comes back.”

He Xing in front of Shen Mian really had no restraint, so much so that even the little girl, later on, knew that Uncle He would ying ying ying.

Unaware of the truth, it dawned on Rhein, “Oh!”
After a few seconds, Rhein suddenly widened his eyes.

“Is that Uncle He you’re talking about Uncle Crown Prince?”

Xing Fei nodded.

Rhein looked down and dwelled on it for a few seconds, muttering, “So large-sized dragons aren’t mean at all, he can also ying ying ying.”

Congratulations to His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince, on two image reversals in one day.

  1. XD That’s right expose the cute puppy ML. But careful, he’s only cute towards his pack family, and will literally bite heads off if they’re threatened.

Random thought, but when do dragons learn their secondary gender? This is ABO afterall. Lu yuan definitely has some Alpha characteristics, as does Gian. Maybe even Rhine and Yan Tan as they’re very protective, even if they aren’t very strong personality wise. I’m not as inclined to place that label on them though. Beta’s more likely.
Xing Fei seems like a classic Omega. Pretty, calm, demure. But I’d love to see her as an ice queen Alpha too.
Likewise, Lu Yuan as a power Omega, determined to conquer the stars despite his secondary gender, would be awesome.

  2. I read a comment about the ABO stuff in the novel. I FORGOT ABOUT THAT. It makes me wonder when that’ll take it’s place in the plot, cuz so far didn’t look to be too important.

  3. Thank you oh God (translator) for this great gift you have so generously given.
Lol, now everyone knows that their great marshal crown prince is a dragon alpha who can Ying Ying ying, lol. I just want to know now what everyone will say when they realize the dean is an omega, not an alpha.
