LBRDI Chapter 45

Fierce Alpha

Bonus ko-fi chapter

Adeline has judged many sessions of the Rising Stars call for papers, and has read many stunning poems with the kind of bursting imagination that amazes all dragons who read them.

But this poem was not characterized by imagination.
It was romance.

Comparing the existence of their beloved to the blossoming flowers in winter, praising him for the sweet fragrance in his chest and holding a galaxy in his palm.

Adeline has seen many amazing ideas of dragon cubs flying into the sky. The different races of the cubs have their own characteristics and the ones that can go into the sea and still go on land have different habits, so they see the world from a different perspective.

But romance like this is rare.

Who are you writing about? Are you writing about your teacher or your parents? With what affection did you write such a poem?
Adeline couldn’t help but read it again, wishing to snap the entire poem off the light screen and put it in her palm to carefully admire it.

Adeline took out a pen and paper and prepared to copy the poem.

When she reached the end of the copy, Adeline realised that the instructor seemed familiar.
Adeline thought about it carefully – The dragon cub who bought the starship seemed to have the same instructor and was from the same centre.

Adeline was silent for a moment and couldn’t help but laugh: This Shen Mian must be a childlike and romantic childcare teacher too.

Adeline thought about it for a while and gave “Cold Winter” an appropriate score, then sat down with satisfaction to read the next one – Title: “Dear Teacher”.

Adeline sighed – It was this type of formatted poem again.

It also can’t be helped, Nova was originally intended to be a draft contest for the childcare teacher assessment and it has yet to get rid of its roots. Many childcare teachers ask their cubs to write such essays or poems to praise themselves so that their moral character can be added to the assessment score.

On the other hand, the judges in the short essay category were not as relaxed as Adeline thought they would be. They received half as many submissions as the poetry category, but they couldn’t resist the hundreds of words in each piece, which seemed like a lot of work.

The judge who read four or five short articles took off their glasses, sighing, “Fortunately, all manuscripts are submitted electronically, I’d go blind if I had to approve the originals.”

The dragons, who can’t learn the anthropomorphic form yet, have their own ugly characters, some of which are so ugly that they drive a judge crazy. It’s a repetitive pattern, with a small half of the essays on parents, the other small half on teachers and the rest on friends or pets. Half of the ones written about parents are about them taking time off work and not sleeping to take care fo them, teachers taking classes when they were sick, friends that got hurt/left to help them…

It’s all old-fashioned lyrical type of writing, in fact, not to mention dragon cubs entering kindergarten, high school adolescent dragons wrote lyric essays with the same tropes. The call for submissions was also more suited to lyrical writing, which is supposed to be a beautiful subject, but the repetitive routine fatigued the judges.

The judge scored a short essay about a teacher who spewed out too much fire, causing their throat to be inflamed and brought up the next essay.

Short essay title “What a good Dean of a childcare centre will bring to the cubs”

Judge: Huh?

He couldn’t help but look at the interface. It was the Nova submission interface, so why does this title look like an academic paper? The style difference with other dragon cubs is too great.

The judge swiped the screen to read the short essay.

The entire short essay was logically clear. The first three paragraphs illustrate the role of kindergarten teachers in the growth process of dragon cubs from several classic examples. The middle paragraphs were from the dragon cub’s own experience of real events about the Dean’s influence on him, with negative examples to prove what kind of harm unqualified childcare teachers will cause to the cubs, combined with famous quotations, in-depth analysis, multifaceted discussion, concluding with the last two paragraphs.

Judge: “…”
Unexpected, really unexpected. After reading dozens of submissions, there were all kinds of lyrical texts and there was even microfiction, but no thesis.

How did you come up with the idea of writing a semi-argumentative essay on a topic that the vast majority of dragon pups would choose to write about in a lyrical style?

The judge looked it over, the whole piece was logically tight, with all the arguments fitting into the argument and the statements flowing smoothly. As a semi-argumentative essay, it was already very bright in itself, refreshing the panel of judges in the short essay section.

The judge was a headteacher at a primary school, so he paid extra attention to the best cubs and centres. He swiped the screen, Author: Gian, attributed to Qiming Nursery.

Qiming?
The judge thought for a while, there was no centre around the primary school where they worked.

The judge was extremely bitter: This little dragon cub probably wouldn’t go to their primary school and there was no telling which one will take him away. It’s too bad that such a good little dragon cub can’t come to their own elementary school.

……

Shen Mian ordered clothes according to their sizes on the StarNet and it was sent to their centre the next day. Because the broadcast was on, Shen Mian tore off the order number when he got the delivery.

He returned to the inside the centre and took out a stack of deliveries. The audience in the live room was shocked.

[Shine the light on people: So many packages! Did the dean go shopping today? It seems to all be clothes. The package is soft. Are there shoes in the box?]

[Sunflower: Which one has a discount today? Dean, send the link!]

[Clear-Hearted: Pfft, the discount should be for dragon cubs, we won’t be able to wear them. But he really bought a lot of them.]

The clothes for Yan Tan and Xing Fei were a specific size but the clothes prepared for Lu Yuan and Gian were different. These two dragon cubs couldn’t change into their human forms yet, so they can only buy the cubs’ average-sized clothes from the virtual store.

Xing Fei and Yan Tan carried their clothes back to the dorms to change into.

Lu Yuan carefully picked up a long sleeve shirt.

“So small.”

Gian picked up one and gestured, “It won’t fit.”

These clothes were just like dolls clothes in front of the black and white chubby boy and the solid green and gold dragon cub.
Shen Mian, “One size fits all, you should be able to wear them.”

In the family’s cubs, only Lu Yuan was considered chubby. Xing Fei has been malnourished and was on the thin side because she had been raised as a human for a long time and the other cubs were of normal height and weight according to the standards within the race.

Lu Yuan squeezed the fat on his belly and grew sad.

“Can I really be like the dean like this?”
He used to think that it wasn’t difficult to change into their human form because the adult dragons all said that they would change and ruin a few clothes at best. Now that he’s going to be eight years old, and he’s about to learn how to do anthropomorphism, Lu Yuan saw that there was a big problem-

He’s so fat!
He’s not as tall as the dean yet he is wider than him! He is now the heaviest of all the dragon cubs.

How could his chubby self shrink to be as slim as the Dean and Uncle He?
Lu Yuan raised his head, his mind has already constructed an image of a human form with a stretchy belly.

Lu Yuan: !!!
Definitely cannot have a tummy! Be thin! Of course, a starship captain has to be as handsome as Dean and Uncle He!

Shen Mian was unpacking and checking the number and size of the parcels and didn’t see Lu Yuan’s changing expression.

He bought a lot of clothes, mainly for Yan Tan and Xing Fei. Gian and Lu Yuan’s sizes haven’t been determined yet so he could only buy one size. The size didn’t have many styles and wasn’t as delicate and lovely as the clothes of other sizes. Shen Mian bought a few sets for the future.

When his Gian and Lu Yuan turn into their human forms, they will definitely be beautiful cubs just like Yan Tan and Xing Fei.

Shen Mian, “When you can complete your human form, you’ll be able to buy various sizes of clothes. Use these for now.”

It just so happened that Yan Tan and Xing Fei walked down in their new clothes.

Although Yan Tan’s dragon form was black to the extreme, his human form was as white as Xing Fei. Yan Tan held Xing Fei’s hand and went down the stairs. The cetacean dragon’s tail was an excellent helper in the water, but it was a little inconvenient on land.

Yan Tan wore a black long-sleeved shirt and trousers with a pair of small red horns sewn on the chest. While descending down the stairs, Yan Tan carefully lowered his head slightly to look at Xing Fei’s feet, worried that she might step on thin air, a serious-looking little dragon cub looking cool.

Xing Fei chose a white dress. She was quiet and talks little. She literally had her own soft light effects that brought out a bit of reserved air in the simple dress.

[I heard there was light: They seem like brother and sister!]

[No longer growing grass: Our Yan Tan Tan is a small gentleman. I wish I had such a cute child to hold my dress when I get married.]

Gian held Shen Mian’s wrist and whispered, “Xing Fei looks good in those clothes.”
I’m going to buy my sister clothes like that in the future.

Shen Mian, “You will look good too..”

Gian chuckled a little, “I think they both look good.”
He let go of Shen Mian, held up a stack of clothes and ran to Xing Fei.

Yan Tan opened the package and shook out a skirt, “Xing Fei, try this skirt.”

The three little dragons happily returned to the dormitory to change their clothes.

Lu Yuan fell into He Xing’s arms, “It’s over.”

He Xing looked down at him and opened his mouth to say his first words of the morning, “What’s wrong?”

[Very lucky: Mr He is so strange today…he hasn’t spoken until now, he used to talk a lot.]

[Domus Aurea: It really is strange, he can actually hold back from harassing the dean.]

[Bitter Candy: He isn’t even smiling…he looks like he’s in a bad mood, did he quarrel with the dean? Mr He looks really good without talking, I feel a bit wimpy.]

[Feng Lin Shan: Mr He gives seems like he is part of the army to me. I have an older sister in my family who is part of the army.]

Lu Yuan laid in his arms very sluggishly, “Am I going to turn into a little fatty?”

He Xing barely perked up and smiled, “Aren’t you already a little fatty?”
The fat all over the body of a spotted dragon is also part of their defence. Each spotted dragons dragon form is fat but their human forms are different.

Lu Yuan, “…”
The little black and white fatty suffered a huge blow, sniffed and threw himself into Shen Mian’s arms, “Dean! I want to lose weight!”

Shen Mian was caught off guard when he bumped into him and almost lost his balance.
As a baby spotted dragon, Lu Yuan was only slightly chubby and didn’t need to lose weight at all. The spotted dragon’s defences relied heavily on their hard bones and subcutaneous fat. In order to hoard fat, they consume a certain amount of high-protein substances and lots of plants, which are very well absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract and belong to a body type that eats a little and gets fat.

Lu Yuan’s ears drooped, “Sorry.”

Shen Mian rubbed his ears, “It’s fine. You’re not chubby at all.”

“I’m fat,” Lu Yuan pinched the flesh on his belly, “Look, it’s all meat.”

“I want to become-”
Lu Yuan thought about it carefully, the two big paws made a gesture, “The kind that is two metres tall, covered in muscles, needs to have a bit of a tan, as wide as I am now and is able to punch away a robot. Oh yeah! Better be like the Crown Prince!”

Crown Prince He Xing, “???”
He Xing, who was depressed because he had set a time to return to the Imperial Star, was full of questions, “What am I like?”

[Lu Leng Leng: I can’t believe Lu Yuan likes a fierce alpha, he’s so cute!]

[Death Rays: So the Imperial Crown Prince is a fierce A? Tough guy? Muscleman?]

[Crown Prince’s Medal: Not sure, His Highness has stayed out of the public eye because he’s been on the front lines, I think he’s the tough type. His Highness has won so many battles and is one of the strongest barriers in the Empire now. My older brother said that many of the battles the Crown Prince personally commanded have been included in textbooks.]

[Seventh Legion Super God: To be precise, the Crown Prince is the author of the textbook hahahaha. Even fierce men are handsome, our Dean and Mr He are exquisitely handsome, while fierce men are placidly handsome.]

Shen Mian, “…”

The author has something to say:

Gian has inherited the Dean’s pure science mindset hahaha.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince has long been misunderstood by the outside world, and the royal family and his comrades are deeply saddened by this (dog head)

    1. His dragon chubbiness is cute💖💕Lu Yuan, you’ll still be slim when you finally gain your human form, why so impatient😂😂 I don’t think you’ll succeed in slimming down as a dragon, after all that is the nature of your species😂😂😂

Nice try Lu Yuan. Danmei aesthetics have you covered as far as being slim goes, but if you want skin that’s darker than porcelain or muscles that don’t disappear when you put on clothes you are S.O.L.
