ARIOCC Chapter 14

Get Angry

The video was a surprise hit, and by the time it came off the daily recommendation, the number of replays had risen to over 900,000. It was estimated that it would break a million today and the followers of Xian Chan cat cafe account had also risen considerably, with over seven hundred followers already.

The next day

Zhou Yan held his phone and dizzily said, “Boss, I’ve been making videos for years, and the highest number of plays is just over two million, no video has been this hot since then.”

He was only a small UP with over 300,000 fans. Many of his videos didn’t even have the same number of views  as he did followers.

It’s not that easy to reach a million replays, especially for new UPs with no fan base. It’s only by luck that they made it to the daily recommendations, missing out on the days when other UPs posted their videos.

Pei Shiyi brought his own mobile phone over and Zhou Yan leaned over. “Boss, why don’t you download J-station?”

Zhou Yan was nearsighted and recently the degree rose but the glasses did not change. He was not familiar with Pei Shiyi’s mobile phone interface, so he could only squint his eyes and try to get closer to Pei Shiyi’s phone screen.

Before Zhou Yan could look at Pei Shiyi’s phone from the world of mosaics, a slightly deep voice suddenly came from behind him. “What are you doing?”

Xiao Zhou twisted his head and before he could identify the other party’s features, he recognised the person by his height- The only person this tall in the whole cat cafe, apart from their boss, was the boss’s friend.

Pei Shiyi had already changed to private messages and was reading them with great interest. Smiling, he waved his phone at Bao Jin. “I’m reading a private message, do you want to come over and take a look?”
Most of the people who had the effort to send him private messages were netizens who were extremely fond of Copper Coin. All kinds of rainbow farts, and on the contrary, they blew it up with genuine sincerity, which made Pei Shiyi laugh.

Copper Coin came to cat café through the AMB’s involvement, these compliments should be enjoyed by Bao Jin.

Of course, he should read them out to Copper Coin later. Mm, forget about the sand sculpture cats or whatever, it didn’t sound like a serious compliment.

Bao Jin walked over to him. He was so tall and oppressive that Xiao Zhou subconsciously craned his neck and moved aside to give him a spot.

Pei Shiyi showed two interesting private messages to him and said, “Quite a few people have private messaged over to ask if I can make an online appointment for tickets, they want to come over and see Copper Coin.”

Even he didn’t know that a short video could attract so much attention, but he could feel the love of those people in the squared off font of the barrage.

Bao Jin looked at it twice and said, “Copper Coin will be happy if he sees this.”

Pei Shiyi said, “He usually loves to cock his tail. If he knew this, he could probably go to heaven.”

As the two of them talked, Xiao Zhou inexplicably felt superfluous and moved two steps, whispering, “Then boss, I’m going over to help, remember to verify your real name.”

After saying that, he wiped his feet and hurriedly slipped away.

Pei Shiyi was used to teasing Bao Jin and casually said, “Look at you scaring people away as soon as you arrive.”

Bao Jin said, “Actually, I was thinking of a question.”

Pei Shiyi was busy going through his private messages and gave him a look with a raised eyebrow, meaning: Permission granted.

Bao Jin said, “He was so close to you, so why didn’t you get angry?”

Pei Shiyi calmly said, “First of all, what I did before isn’t called getting angry, it’s called keeping to myself. Secondly, he came up to my phone, you came up to me, the two are different in nature. If I had less connotation, I would have crippled you then, but I didn’t. Do you now have a deep understanding of the generosity of yours truly?”

Without waiting for Bao Jin to say anything, Pei Shiyi waved his hand. “No need to thank you, kneel in peace.”

Bao Jin, “…”

He looked back at Yun Chao, who was lying on the cat climbing frame looking down on the crowd, and internally thought that the two of them had the exact same expression at the moment.

……

Li Tong had been completely brainwashed by the leopard cat’s bad guy in the past two days, humming the high/climax part at home at every turn, and once this BGM rang in her head, her mind immediately conjured up the leopard cat’s writhing and joyful body.

So this Saturday, Li Tong dragged her bestfriend straight to the cat cafe.

It was mid-June and it was still extra hot today, the air outside could steam them.

Her bestfriend, who was sweating a bit and her clothes were sticking to her, complained, “So why are we here at this hour? It’s too hot! This cat cafe doesn’t even have an official website, are you sure it’s not some kind of messy little workshop?”

Li Tong said, “No way, the video is quite nice and the cat is also quite nice.”

Her best friend was speechless. “The video is just palm-sized, what can you tell about the environment? Besides, cats, unless they are really sick, can always find some time to be demons and are very active, a cut video is not proof of a healthy cat. So many cat cafes have opened in our city, didn’t they all end up collapsing?”

Li Tong took a step, her best friend had a point and it did hit home. Li Tong hesitantly said, “So …wer’re not going anymore?”

The best friend said, “We’re already on the subway, let’s just go, otherwise we came out so far just to do nothing and go back. It’s too much of a loss, so at least go to the shop and leech off their air conditioning.”

Li Tong said, “Okay.” Although she finally decided to find her way there, Li Tong couldn’t feel the same excitement she had when she first left home, and leaned weakly on her best friend.

Getting off the subway, the two followed the address to find it.

“It’s all the way at the end,” said her best friend. “It’s quite easy to find.”

Shi Liu Street was the longest and most crowded street in Yu Chuan. The two of them walked fast for ten minutes before they saw the small, detached building. The best friend and Li Tong were already covered in a thin layer of sweat.

Li Tong was about to ask how long it would be before she reached the end when she looked up and the mint green lettering crashed into her field of vision.

As if the coolness of mint was really coming over, Li Tong immediately stopped being hot, tugged her best friend and began to jog. “I can see it! Let’s quickly go!”

That isn’t a cat cafe, it’s an air conditioner!

The small detached building was separated from its noisy neighbours by a slight distance. As you walk towards the entrance you passed a floor-to-ceiling window and were instantly drawn to the large presentation board.

Li Tong stopped and the first thing she saw was the various cats on the presentation board.

“Quickly look!”

Li Tong immediately tugged on her best friend.

Her best friend was blindly running into the cat cafe when she was pulled by Li Tong and said, “What?”

She followed Li Tong’s line of sight and looked back, instantly amazed- each of the several cats on the introduction board had an amazing face. The hand-drawn avatars were unique in style, in a refreshing fairy-tale style.

Li Tong stood in front of the presentation board. “Quick, quick, take some pictures for me!”

The two of them exchanged several shots and the best friend said, “If only the cat in there looked as good as the one here.” It’s normal to look good in paintings, even some of the cats that were beautiful in photos were either sickly or dirty in reality, they were “photoshopped”.

Rekindling her enthusiasm, Li Tong rushed into the cat cafe, taking her best friend’s hand.

As soon as they entered the cat cafe, the cold air wrapped around them with a fresh fruity scent.

Li Tong stood mesmerised and took a breath, quickly washed her hands and changed her shoes, gently pushed open the small barred door and walked into the business area of the cat cafe.

Her best friend followed closely behind. The interior of the cat cafe was a bit of a novelty to her, and once she reached the business area, she could barely keep her eyes open- the décor was so sensational!

She also saw the ragdoll cat on the presentation board running past after a ball, like a moving marshmallow. It wasn’t until the ragdoll figure disappeared behind the wall that she fondly withdrew her gaze and was about to order when something brushed the skin of her ankle, a wonderfully fluffy touch, followed by the sound of a cat purring.

She almost screamed when she looked down- there was a large orange cat sitting at her feet, licking its fur on its hind legs, and a small sign around its neck that read “Shop Manager Egg Yolk”.

Technically, it was actually a large ginger cat with a fine, soft white fur belly, sitting at her feet with two nicely draped circles of flesh squeezing out of its belly. The big orange cat had a pair of round eyes and tilted its head to meet hers exactly.

The best friend, “!!” Her heart melted at the look.

It was just as well that Li Tong took her order and turned around to see Egg Yolk. Without waiting for her to lean down and pet the cat, Egg Yolk shook his fur and stood up, tail high in the air, and took two steps towards the area where the low tables were kept. Noticing that the two behind him did not follow, Egg Yolk turned his head and meowed at them.

Li Hitomi uncertainly said, “Is it telling us to come over?”

The best friend said, “Probably.”

The two took two tentative steps and Egg Yolk also stepped forwards, leading them to an empty low table, but when they got closer, they realised it wasn’t empty- There was a golden british shorthair sleeping on the table, curled up in a ball in the sunlight, the tips of its fur tinged with gold, like golden whipped cream.

The best friend and Li Tong froze in place- Ahhhhh, wouldn’t sitting down right now wake up the little angel!

As if hearing a sound, the sleeping golden british shortair gradually opened his eyes, his wet dark green eyes falling on the two. He slowly extended one front paw, calling out to the both of them gently and softly. “Meow.”

Li Tong and best friend: Oh no, it’s the feeling of getting a crush.

Hello there! Just a quick note that you probably shouldn’t enter aircon right away after you’ve been in the sun for a long time or after exercise as you can get a cold from the instant change in temperature!
