LBRDI Chapter 84

Blooming

Although he slept late, Shen Mian still woke up the next day under the urging of his biological clock. When the morning light came in through the gap in the curtains, Shen Mian felt a lightness on his waist and an arm reached out from behind him, turning off the buzzing quantum computer.

Shen Mian sniffed for a bit. He was now in a fully awake state and a faint fragrance still lingered on the tip of his nose. “… You’re actually bitter.”

He Xing’s pheromones had a faint bitterness to them, like the smell of sun-dried medicinal material, very thin.

He Xing gave a muffled laugh. “You’re sweet.”
Shen Mian’s pheromones were like a certain type of wine, sweet with a special fragrance. He Xing’s alcohol tolerance had always been good but yesterday he got drunk on Shen Mian.

Shen Mian turned his head and He Xing kissed his cheek.

“It tastes like gin.”

Shen Mian slowly turned back around, narrowing his eyes, feeling difficult to the point he didn’t want to move even though it was time.

“Sorry, I couldn’t hold back yesterday.” He Xing kissed him a few times. “I saw you sitting there after I came out of the shower and I just loved it.”

Shen Mian got out of bed, fished up the shirt and trousers that were aside and put them on, looking down at him.

He Xing sat up. He was wearing pyjamas with a button undone. He lowered his head to tidy Shen Mian’s collar while saying, “The villa is done today.”

He Xing hugged Shen Mian’s waist from behind, buckling his belt. “I just can’t stop thinking about you sitting at home looking like this too.”

Shen Mian tidied up his clothes a little. “I was awake yesterday, not drunk. Go put on your clothes.”

He Xing smiled. “Alright, Dean.”
He let go of Shen Mian and fished out a blouse similar to Shen Mian’s from the cupboard.

Today was another day to wear a couple’s outfit with the dean.

……

Lu Yuan and Gian learnt how to change into their human forms from Wen Yan.

Gian was a little luckier than Lu Yuan. He belonged to the little dragon cubs that didn’t change much in appearance. Gian realised that his body was preparing to enter the human form while he was taking a writing lesson, the obscure and subtle feeling coming up.

When Shen Mian saw that Gian hadn’t left after class had ended, he thought that he wasn’t feeling well so he went over to ask.

Gian pondered for a while and confidently told Shen Mian, “Dean, I feel like I’m going to transform.”

Shen Mian lowered his head and kissed Gian’s forehead. “Are you going to become a cute little human Gian?”

Gian slowly grabbed Shen Mian’s sleeve and repetitively nodded. “En! I’m a big dragon cub now!”

The human form was considered to be the same as racial instincts for the little dragon cubs. As long as it accumulated to a certain point, it would naturally be learned. But this process wasn’t much of a pleasant one for the little dragon cubs- no matter what was happening on the outside, the changes inside the body wouldn’t stop during this time and it would definitely affect the cub’s mood. Shen Mian prepared the lesson plan for the new class while learning to take care of a cub in their special period with Wen Yan.

But as far as the dean had observed, his family’s two dragon cubs didn’t seem to have any problems in that regard. Lu Yuan and Gian were even more lively than before.

Before Gian and Lu Yuan practised bringing out their human forms, Shen Mian’s elective class had started. It was already the second month of Spring on Water Star. The centre’s flowers were all in bloom and the cubs were noticeably more energetic.

The set time for the first class was in the afternoon, which would only last for 30 minutes, and as he said at that time, the dragon cubs weren’t required to be present.

But how could Dean Shen’s course not have any little dragon cubs?

When Shen Mian walked into the classroom, he found that all the little dragon cubs were sitting in their seats and all the childcare teachers were in the back row.

Shen Mian’s footsteps stopped, then he walked to the podium. “The course is being live broadcasted and there is a face protection system. It will only recognise my face. If you mind being filmed, you can move to the quantum computer’s blind spot.”

The entire elective class was being live broadcasted. The camera was facing Shen Mian and the viewer’s perspective was set to be fixed. The viewers couldn’t rotate their perspective and could only see the back of the little dragon cubs. The seats on either side won’t be received by the live broadcast.

In order to facilitate outdoor live broadcasting anchors, Cat Eye Live has long ago removed the old face protection system. When faces other than the anchor appear, they will add a mask effect that came with the live room to intelligently protect privacy.

Shen Mian had already informed the little dragon cubs and their parents about the issue of live broadcasting the elective class. The parents agreed after knowing that their privacy was protected, after all, showing up in Dean Shen’s live broadcast was similar to appearing on the Empire’s Film and Television Channel, but appearing in the live broadcast was not a bad thing.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was hanging around in the live room anyways.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, who was “hanging around”, set up the quantum computer and waited for Shen Mian to start.

None of the childcare teachers moved. Wen Yan patted his little elastic belly. “I’m getting older, I just want to get on a TV platform.”

The other childcare teachers chimed in, “He’s right. The dean is bringing us onto a TV platform.”

Shen Mian, “…”

These young childcare teachers were full of yearning for “net celebrities” and if Wen Yan had a rigid personality, he wouldn’t have moved to Shen Mian’s small childcare centre at this age.

Since they didn’t care, it didn’t matter to Shen Mian. He flipped open the lesson plan and looked up. He Xing had propped himself up in the back row and was constantly looking at him. After receiving Shen Mian’s line of sight, he tapped on the quantum computer a few times and the live broadcast began.

[Braised Pork: I’ve come, I’ve come! The first barrage!]

[A small fence: There’s actually a live broadcast in the afternoon?! Luckily, I don’t work in the afternoon hehe.]

[Greyish Moonlight: I finally made it to Dean’s Live! It was very difficult watching the live recordings of nocturnal dragons for half a month. Why can’t the Dean’s nightlife be more enriched?]

[Dew: His nightlife, Is that something to show you?

Seventh Legion Super God: Ahem, live broadcasting in a classroom should mean that there is class, everyone should listen up.]

Shen Mian put on his holographic glasses. His quantum computer had been replaced, so his holographic glasses were replaced with matching thin-rimmed glasses. He also wore a formal shirt and trouser set today. His speech was a bit muffled, his entire person was gentle and indifferent. “Good afternoon, this is the human, dragon culture exchange class.”

“No need to be anxious.” Shen Mian looked at the little dragon cubs below that had never taken his classes before. “This is just an exchange class, you are free to speak and ask whatever you want, or you can just listen to what I have to say and when you grow up, you can verify it for yourselves.”

The barrage exploded:

[A small fence: The Dean is going to talk about human culture?!]

[Xue Lulu: Ahhhhhh- I can’t believe I’ve waited for this day, I can’t believe I’ve waited for the Dean to talk about human civilization! I’m so proud! Everyone, I am so proud!]

[Pearlescent: The dragons are looking forward to it too! I live on Bo Cui Star and it takes seventeen days on a starship to human civilization… I can’t even see any humans here.]

[South East: Same… It’s too far away. Humans don’t usually come this way, and interstellar voyages are too torturous, even for dragons to travel far.]

Shen Mian moved aside and the projector cast an interstellar map of the entire human civilisation- against a dark background, stars shone throughout the entire galaxy. There were areas of light that burned with the fires of human civilization.

Shen Mian stretched out his hand on the light screen and a blue planet appeared in front of the dragon cubs and the audience.
“This is Earth, the place where humans came from. She is eighteen million light-years away from the current civilization and it took five migrations for humans to settle in the present galaxy.”

He Xing held his jaw and looked at the blue planet that was the native land of his beloved.

Very pretty and full of vibrant colours.

Gian raised his paws. “Dean. Then why do humans celebrate holidays that celebrate the Great Migration?”

Shen Mian, “The Great Migration refers to the migration when humans left Earth. That migration was the worst loss for mankind, losing part of the civilization’s wealth and compatriots, but in exchange for a new life. So it is regarded as the grandest festival, to let mankind remember the Great Migration forever.”

“Humans don’t have that many races, but they have different customs…”
Shen Mian’s voice wasn’t gentle. It even felt a little unreal in the slightly empty classroom, but the voice opened a door to another civilization for the little dragon cubs.

Shen Mian didn’t pick a heavy, preachy kind of history. The beginning was just a bit of selfishness on his part- it was Earth, where his soul came from. He couldn’t help but miss it and love it dearly.

After the beginning, they continued onto the topic of this lesson, the human civilization’s fairy tales, throwing out stories that the little dragon cubs find hard to understand and find interesting, causing them to ask questions non-stop for the rest of the lesson.

Unknowingly, it was time for the end of class. Shen Mian never delayed the class, closing the lesson plan as soon as the bell rang. The dragon cubs and the childcare teachers both let out disappointed sounds.

Qin Yi jotted down several pages of notes, but she was currently in her dragon form and wrote a particularly heroic dog crawl with a claw. After holding the notebook for a while, she realised that she couldn’t read a single word and was somewhat annoyed, so she approached Xing Fei.

One of Xing Fei’s pages was completely blank, with pink fluff falling onto the page.

Qin Yi blinked and looked up to see that the little cotton dragon in the front row wasn’t like the fluff that was floating down.

Xing Fei slightly smiled, put her finger on her lips and signalled Qin Yi to be silent.

Qin Yi laid on the table, her tail quietly placed on the table, swaying at Xing Fei.

Shen Mian had already said that it was the end of class and the little dragon cubs stood up and began to prepare for their own interest classes. The little dragon cub sitting in the front row slowly stood up and when she turned around, she saw Xing Fei’s notebook.

The little cotton dragon, “!”

“Sorry, sorry, sorry.” The little cotton dragon kept bowing. “I’m changing my fur right now, so I’m shedding a bit. You… you aren’t allergic to it, are you?”

Xing Fei picked up a velvet flower. “No.”

The little girl smiled slightly, spreading her hands. The fluff was like a small cotton flower in her white hands. “You’re like a blooming flower.”

The cotton dragon Lu Nong looked at her blankly and whispered, “Thank you.”
